Mentoring Program

Pairing young men with mentors that have experienced some of the same things they are experiencing, someone they can relate to. By providing them with someone they can relate to they are more adapt to open up and respond. The mentor’s responsibility is to help navigate the youth by using Boyz2Men proven strategies.

Roundtable Discussions

This includes weekly small group counseling for at-risk young men. 

1. Open discussions
2. Field Trips to introduce students to possible job & education opportunities
3. Presentations from guest motivational speakers

Community Service

Teaching youth to be grateful and give back to their communities to show regardless of their situation there is always someone who has a worse situation. 

1. Feeding the homeless
2. Cleaning up their neighborhoods

Career & Vocational Development

The program consists of partnering with businesses to provide job readiness skills training and providing youth with job shadowing experiences.

Law Enforcement Interaction (LEI) Training

 

Many of our young men live in impoverished neighborhoods and come in to contact with law enforcement on a regular basis. Our LEI Training Program will be partnered with IPD and allows youth to act out scenarios and teaches them non-combative methods to deal with law enforcement.
